Lore Seekers Press will open for general submissions again in Feb 2020.

Lore Seekers Press, a royalties-paying, traditional small publisher, is interested in fantasy – epic fantasy, urban fantasy, dark fantasy, historical fantasy, sword and sorcery – and science fiction. No erotica, please. We might accept work that has erotic elements, but they should not be the focus of the story. At this time, we are not accepting submissions of children’s, middle-grade, or young adult projects.
Lore Seekers seeks completed novella-length work (20,000 to 40,000 words) in the stated genres. The publisher’s business model is based on a series of three (3) novellas featuring the same character or the same world with familiar characters, for e-book release and for printed omnibus. Please submit for consideration the first 2,500 words of the first novella (of three), a 5-page synopsis of the first novella and 3-page synopses of the next two novellas.
On rare occasions we may consider a novel-length project (65,000-100,000 words), if the work is exceptional.

Submissions should be sent to submissions@LoreSeekersPress.com (submissions only, please) with a cover letter, the synopses, and the sample pages. Should your work be accepted by another publisher during the 45-60 day period of your manuscript’s consideration, please let us know.

Please format your work in standard manuscript format, which is:
• MSWord documents ONLY (.doc and .docx format). The manuscript should be submitted as an attached file, not embedded in the email. No graphics or active links.
• 12pt. Times New Roman Font
• 1-inch Margins
• Double-spaced
• Author name and page numbers at the top header
• Please include your name, email, address, and phone number on the cover letter and on the first page of your submission and on synopses
• Five page, double-spaced, novella synopsis and
• Three page, double-spaced synopses for the second and third novellas
Upon receipt of your submission, Lore Seekers Press will send you an email confirmation. If you do not receive such an email within three business days of your submission, please contact us. Otherwise, please wait 45-60 days for our response to your submission. We will request more of your work or send a rejection during that time. While we would love to provide feedback to everyone, we are unable to send a personal rejection with each submission. On rare occasions we might reconsider a manuscript if specific changes are made. If you receive a personal letter with suggested changes, and revise the manuscript accordingly, you may query again.
Should we accept your work for publication, the editorial process will include a developmental edit, copy edit, and final proofing, and will begin when all three novellas have been submitted.
